About Jami

The Mental Health Awareness Shabbat is brought to you by Jami – the mental health service for the Jewish community. Jami provides support and education to people experiencing a variety of mental health problems and to carers also affected by these issues. Jami’s focus is on recovery, enabling people to live the life they want to live.
Statistics show one in four British adults will experience a mental health problem each year. Jami is here to help. They provide support and education to people experiencing a variety of mental health problems and to carers also affected by these issues. Jami offers the following support:

Head Room


The Jami Head Room team provide seminars and events to educate the whole community about mental health and wellbeing. Alongside this we run a range of courses to support people on their recovery or personal development journey.

Living


Jami’s team help people manage their mental and physical health, daily routine and housing needs. Jami also offers a carer’s support service.

Social


Jami visits people in hospital, organises befriending for socially isolated individuals and offers peer support from people who have experience of their own mental health recovery. Jami’s hubs run varied programmes throughout the week.

Work & learning


Jami offers assistance with job searching and advice on how to manage the work-life balance. Jami also runs a social enterprise, offering volunteering and training opportunities to those looking to return to employment.
